As a city offering countless sightseeing attractions, museums, cultural activities and events and has its own special charm, Innsbruck, the regional capital of Tyrol is definitely worth a visit.

There’s plenty to see and the Goldene Dachl, the symbol of Innsbruck at heart of the stunningly beautiful gothic old town is certainly not to be missed.  Innsbruck city centre is one of the best-preserved medieval centres in Austria. The Hofburg too, with its breathtaking state rooms will make you stop and stare. The most important monument to an emperor in the whole of the Alpine region is also located in Innsbruck - the Hofkirche with the mausoleum of Kaiser Maximilian I which attracts tourist from all over the world. Looking down over the city of Innsbruck the beautifully situated Schloss Ambras has a historic garden and lovingly created park which is always worth a visit.

For those who enjoy culture, the many museums such as the Ferdinandeum, the museum of ethnography and the armoury are just the thing.

Further highlights are the Bergisel and the new Hungerburgbahn, designed by renowned architect Zaha Hadid, which lend Innsbruck its modern touch.

The Landestheater stages high class performances for theatre buffs. Many restaurants, clubs and bars offer party animals the chance to discover the capital city of the Alps by night.
